Every comedy room in Canada, in one app
Stand-up, open mics, improv, roast battles. From Toronto basements to Vancouver back rooms — every room in the country, from day one.
Where2Laugh is an app. It launches on iPhone and Android.
Not a listings website — a free app you open at 8pm to find out what’s funny near you tonight. That’s a real screen from the build on the right.

01 · The feed
What's on tonight, sorted by what starts next

03 · Why Where2Laugh
Comedy rooms never had a place of their own
Open mics and free rooms don't sell tickets, and social feeds only show you accounts you already follow. Here's the difference.
Comparison based on publicly available features, August 2026.
03b · Side by side
Where2Laugh or the tools you already have
Switch between them. The rows are identical; only the answers change.
One feed, every format, sorted by time. Nothing hidden behind a follow, and no fee on any door.
Instagram is a good tool — it was just never built to answer “what’s on tonight?”.
Eventbrite is built for selling tickets. Rooms that don’t sell tickets therefore don’t exist on it.
Search finds pages, not evenings. A weekly mic with no website is invisible no matter how you phrase it.
Events works if you already follow the room. It is a social graph first and a listings tool second.
Compared on publicly available features, August 2026. All five are useful products; only one is built for this question.
04 · Comedy, your way
Six kinds of funny, one feed
Stand-up comedy
The classic: one comic, one mic, and a set they've been sharpening for months. From five-minute showcase spots to full headliner hours.
Open mics
Where every comic in the country started. Usually free, usually weekly, always a gamble — and the single best way to see tomorrow's headliners first.
Improv shows
Nothing is scripted and nothing happens twice. Troupes build whole scenes from a single audience suggestion — the most social night out in comedy.
Roast battles
Two comics, prepared insults, a winner picked by the room. Loud, brutal, and consistently the fastest-selling indie format in the country.
Free comedy shows
No ticket, no cover, no excuse. Hundreds of Canadian rooms run free or pay-what-you-can — they just never show up on ticketing sites.
Comedy clubs
The purpose-built rooms: two-item minimums, tight sightlines, and weekend lineups that mix local pros with touring headliners.
For hosts, producers & venues
List your room free. Keep your door.
Publish in two minutes, recurring nights repost themselves weekly, and attendees contact you directly. No cut, no fees, no one between you and the door.

Frequently asked
Everything people ask us
What is Where2Laugh?
Where2Laugh is a free app that lists every live comedy room in Canada in one feed — stand-up, open mics, improv, sketch and roast battles. You browse what's on tonight in your city, then go straight to the door.
Is it free?
Yes. Free for audiences to browse and free for hosts to list. There are no booking fees, because we never handle the transaction — you pay the room at the door, however that host already takes entry.
Which Canadian cities is it in?
Where2Laugh covers Canada coast to coast from day one, including Toronto, Montréal, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Québec City, Halifax and beyond. Any host anywhere in Canada can list a room.
Do you sell tickets?
No. Where2Laugh is a discovery app, not a ticketing platform. Each listing shows how that room takes entry — free, pay-what-you-can, cash at the door, or the host's own link — and hands you straight to them.
How do I find comedy shows tonight near me?
Open Where2Laugh and the feed shows every comedy show running tonight in your city, ordered by what starts next. Filter by style, price and night — including unticketed and last-minute rooms.
How do I find open mics?
Filter the feed by Open Mic and you get every open mic in your city, including recurring weekly rooms. They're usually free or pay-what-you-can, and they rarely appear on ticketing sites — which is exactly why we list them.
Can I list my comedy show for free?
Yes. Listing is free for hosts, producers, venues and open mic runners anywhere in Canada. Publish in about two minutes; recurring nights repeat automatically each week.
How is this different from Instagram or Eventbrite?
Instagram only shows rooms you already follow, and ticketing sites only show shows that sell tickets through them. Where2Laugh lists every comedy room in one place — free, unticketed and open mic nights included — sorted by what's on tonight.

Tonight in Toronto

It opens on tonight
No search box to fill in, no city to pick twice. The feed is already your city and already this evening, ordered by what starts next.
Two taps to your taste
Format and price. Free open mics, or under $15, or everything — the feed reshapes and stays that way.
The room, described honestly
Capacity, what the night actually is, and whether to arrive early. Written by the host, not scraped from a listing.
Then we hand you over
WhatsApp or email the room directly. No checkout, no fee, no confirmation email from us.
Hosts see what pulls
Views and saves per room. Enough to know which title and photo work, without a dashboard to learn.
06 · The app
Built, tested, ready
Sixty screens across both sides of the mic — the attendee journey from splash to door, and the host journey from sign-up to insights.
Tonight’s feed
Every room in your city, ordered by start time. No account needed to browse.
Taste & filters
Six formats, price caps, neighbourhoods. Your feed learns what you pick.

09 · The shape of a night
What an evening actually looks like
No booking, no queue, no interval bar prices. Live comedy runs on a simple clock.
Doors
Turn up half an hour early for the good seats. Most rooms take cash or e-transfer at the door — no reservation, no queue.
The room fills
A host opens, then three to eight comics do short sets. Ninety minutes, one break, and a bar that stays open throughout.
Late shows start
The loosest sets of the week. Comics try things at half ten they would never try at nine — and you are home before midnight.
10 · By the numbers
The case, in five figures

Thirteen provinces, one feed, and nobody taking a cut of the door.
